Fjeldberg – Devotion for September 29th, 2026
READ Exodus 33:12,14)
Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, 'Lead these people,' but you have not let me know whom you will send with me.” The Lord replied, "My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
REFLECT
I imagine Moses was feeling lonely and inadequate right about now. I can relate to that! Many times I’ve wondered if I’m up to the task laid before me. Am I a good mother? Am I a good wife? What is healthier for me, carbs or no carbs? Am I choosing the right music for the choir and for Fjeldberg? How do I balance work and my family’s needs right now? All these questions lead to feelings of inadequacy and doubt.
I know I need help, but who can I ask without overwhelming them with my weakness? The truth is, I may feel alone and inadequate, but it's only because I’m blinded by my human limitations. God is always with us, guiding us and lifting us up. If we ask for God’s help, God will give us rest.
PRAY
Ever present God, give us strength to see through our feelings of loneliness and inadequacy. Help us know You and feel You in our lives. Your steadfast love carries us, Thank-You! Amen.
