READ (2 Timothy 1:7)

For God has not given us the Spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of sound mind.

REFLECT 

Each time I turn on the TV there seems to be more news about the pandemic. Some of it is correct and some is not. Sometimes I feel the fear mounting up inside of me as I wonder what should I do. However, the Bible says that God has not given us the Spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of sound mind. The last three need to work together, not separately. We have the power to do God’s will; the power to love, help and respect those around us; the power to understand that we need to care for others even as we care for ourselves. We are not to do things that would put others in harm’s way. As challenging as this time is, God is there for us every day.

PRAY   

Father, please take away the fear that grows in us. Give us the power to love and to spread the grace of Jesus Christ to those around us. Give us sound minds to be able to distinguish the good from the bad in what we hear. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
