READ (John 7:37-39)

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

REFLECT

This past Thursday was the Ascension of Our Lord into heaven. And in just 3 days we celebrate the descent of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost Sunday.

I chose this reflective reading as it reminds me of the waters of baptism. And baptism to me symbolizes a spiritual life with Christ and the Holy Spirit. What a great reason for celebration.

What does Pentecost mean to you?

PRAY

Dear God, thank you for your love and bringing the holy spirit into our lives so that we can continue to live with you. Amen.
