Fjeldberg – Devotion for March 12th, 2026

READ (Lamentations 3:40)

Let us search out and examine our ways, And turn back to the Lord.

REFLECT 

I grew up starting around the age of ten in a blended family…gained a lot more family.  All of the new family were very welcoming. In 5th grade we had a house fire and lost almost everything and ended up moving to a house across the street from my bonus grandparents. Being right across the street was great and I gained a lot of closeness with them. 

Springing ahead, I got married and we had our first child. Grandma…now Great Grandma was excited for the little one and of course spoiled him. But unfortunately, her time spoiling got cut short as she passed away unexpectedly just 10 months later. 

This verse reminds me of the night we got the call of grandma’s passing. I was mad at God and got in the mindset that God was a joke…why would he take someone so great away so soon. Until Joey was in school I didn’t go to church because….why…what good does it do.  

With a invite to Fjeldberg from some bowling friends….. 

I found my way back. Thanks Be to GOD!

Dear God, thank you for always being there to help us to always turn back to you no matter the path we are on. In your name we pray. Amen.
