READ (Romans 5:8)

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

REFLECT 

So many times when we receive a gift we say “You shouldn’t have,” as if we didn’t do anything to deserve the gift. And gifts don’t have to be material things, it could be someone cleaning the house for you. Gift giving is an act of love no matter what form it comes in.  

God loved us so much, God sent Jesus to die to save us from our sin. God didn’t wait for us to deserve it, God didn’t wait for the manger to be cleaned and sanitized. God came despite our faults and uncleanliness. God loves us - no matter what.  

 PRAY   

God of love, thank you for your gifts of Jesus, love, grace, and forgiveness. Help us to be examples of these gifts to everyone we meet. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
