Fjeldberg – Devotion for  June 2nd, 2026

READ (1 Corinthians 12: 4, 7, 12)

“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit…To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good…All the members of the body, though many, are one body.”

REFLECT 

As I read through this passage (v. 4-13), I think of how we have so many gifts from God, but we do not all receive the same gifts. To each of us something is given that we may develop and share with others for the common good, as the Bible text suggests. I consider this to be great news, since we are freed from needing to be masters of everything! Progress is made through all of us working together to improve our lives and the world’s well-being. Each of us is a part of that one body, which can achieve wonderful things. Look how far we have come already!

PRAY   

Dear God, thank you for the gifts of the Spirit. Whatever the gifts that we receive, may we always use them wisely. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
