Fjeldberg – Devotion for January 8th, 2026

READ (Psalm 25:16-17)  

Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. Relieve the troubles of my heart, and bring me out of my distress.

REFLECT 

Now more than ever, many are feeling lonely and distressed – some feel extreme loneliness even in the midst of a crowd. Then there is the news of so much unrest around the world. This plus loneliness creates disquiet in our hearts and doubts begin to invade our souls. Where is God in all of this? Signs of God’s presence are all around us – the singing of birds, the whistling of the wind, a phone call from someone just to check in and to say that they care. God’s ambassadors are everywhere. God is still in control, and He will bring us through this. I have a t-shirt that says “New Year, New Challenges, Same Great God”.

PRAY   

God of wonder, help us to see You all around. Relieve our troubled hearts. We thank you for the grace and comfort you have provided through Your Son, Jesus Christ. It is in His name we pray. Amen.
