Fjeldberg – Devotion for February 3rd, 2026

READ (Exod. 23:1, Zech. 8:16)

“Do not spread false reports. Do not help a wicked man by being a malicious witness.”

“These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts”  

REFLECT 

How cautionary the short Exodus verse is for these current times. Social and broadcast medias are rife with rumors, lies and made up “facts” expressed by people with their own agendas. 

Zechariah offers the solution that people of God should be presenting the truth. Difficult when various platforms persist in cancelling messages of love and tolerance in favor of promoting hate, division and violence. 

It is necessary for us to evaluate the information we see and hear to determine what is truth before we endorse it by passing it on.  

 PRAY   

Lord give us the wisdom to sort out the chaff and find truth. Help us to stand firm on the truths found in the Bible and apply those to our lives. Amen
