Fjeldberg – Devotion for November 18th, 2025

READ (John 14:12)
“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”

REFLECT

As Thanksgiving approaches, we prepare for a special time of gathering for fellowship and food with family and friends. It is the perfect time to count our blessings for the many connections in our lives, and think about how we share God's love, compassion, patience, and hope with the relationships and communities we share.     God is the source of all gifts and blessings we possess during our earthly walk. It is important that we are mindful during life’s busyness to reflect upon God, the giver of all that is material and spiritual, and the provider of promise for eternal life through the sacrifice of His son.

As humans in Jesus’ image, we are fulfilled by serving, connecting, and loving others selflessly just as he did many years ago. As his disciples realized after losing Jesus, we continue to glorify him by sharing his mission as the Holy Spirit lives in all of us. Sometimes it is difficult to understand the deeper significance of connectivity and how sharing grace and mercy resonates far beyond our comprehension and lifespan; however, we believe that sharing these gifts light a clear path of faithfulness in those we touch….a faith that unites rather than divides families, friends, organizations, churches, communities, and the nation.

Sharing the love of God and the dedication of Jesus to the Father is an expression of true caring and generosity. It is a beautiful legacy of “otherness over oneness.”

Celebrate Thanksgiving with joy and give thanks for connections.

PRAY

Dear Heavenly Father,   We thank you for your guidance in our earthly walk as we share abundance and love at all levels, not only during the holidays, but each day. You have taught us through your son Jesus to give freely without counting the cost. We pray that nothing keeps us from being conduits of your love, peace, and hope.  In your name we pray. Amen
