Fjeldberg – Devotion for September 23rd, 2025
READ (Psalm 78:2-4)
“I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter hidden things from of old-what we have known, what our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from our children, we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power and the wonders he has done.”
REFLECT
The children kept coming Sunday morning when Pastor Tim called them up for the Children’s Message. How exciting and what a JOY!
Fjeldberg is persevering in sharing the message for the next generation on Sunday morning, at VBS, and youth activities.
The question is: Do we as aunts, uncles, godparents, grandparents, parents and caring adults continue to share God’s love and Grace with our children during the week?
Do we mention in conversations where we saw God working? Do we remind daily through hugs and prayers of God’s constant presence for each of us?
A reminder for me is a poem written by our daughter, Heidi, many years ago and hangs on my refrigerator.
PRAY:
God shine through me so others might see the example of your Son. Shine the light of your love like the sun, up above through my thoughts, words and deeds. Let all I say and do give glory to you, your creation and your love. God shine through me so others may see the example of your Son. Amen.
