Fjeldberg – Devotion for October 14th, 2025

READ (Philippians 2:13)
For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

REFLECT
When we don’t know what to do, it is easy to grumble or not feel qualified, so why even start/listen to God’s call? Other times when we know exactly what to do, helping may feel beneath us, so we don’t help/follow God’s call.

Sometimes we face times when we don’t know what to do and find ourselves a bit grumpy or saying "Why bother?" Or we know exactly what to do but think it is beneath us to help, or we say "Why bother, they won't appreciate me anyway?" In either case, it is important to remember that we are God's children. God is at work in our lives every day and in every situation, calling us toward paths that are known and unknown. How are we being open to the ways that God is at work in our lives, and sharing God’s good news if we say "Why bother?"

PRAY
God of grace, you abundantly shower us with love and grace that we don’t deserve. Guide our actions and words to be examples of your love and grace to everyone around us. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
