“Keep yourselves in the love of God.”

REFLECT

The source of today’s Bible text is a very short book in the New Testament. It is a letter just slightly over one page in length. Jude, the author, wrote to provide guidance and to encourage Christians to remain strong in the faith. At that time, there were many distractions and false teachings to divert followers to other paths. This is true of the present day as well, with divisions among us and disruptions that can make us angry, discontented, or confused. As we struggle to overcome these diversions, let us remember Jude’s advice and keep our lives centered in the love of God. Accept that God’s authority will prevail and live within the teachings that have been provided, as Jude had advised.

PRAY

Dear God, thank you for those who have come before us and for current faith leaders who remind us to live as Jesus did, with thoughtful care for people and the world around us. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
