Fjeldberg – Devotion for June 26th, 2025

Continue encouraging each other and building each other up, just like you are doing already.

REFLECT
Going to a new church, or really anywhere new, can be nerve wracking, especially if you don’t know anyone. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to participate in many different worship services at various churches. There is nothing better than being welcomed to a church, even a simple, “Hi, how are you?,” goes a long way. There is also nothing like visiting a church and not feeling welcomed. Thankfully I’ve been to more welcoming churches than not. There is one exception to this…Fjeldberg, Fjeldberg welcomes people so well! I know a lot of work has, and continues going into making Fjeldberg a welcoming church, and it shows.

Yes, we are welcoming at church, but how do we extend that welcome into the world and share God’s love? It doesn’t take much looking around, to see that we live in a very divided, broken, and lonely world. This isn’t new and is like the world that Jesus came into, yet Jesus created community for people to come and experience the life of joy that comes through the Good News of grace and eternal life in Christ. Let’s take the culture of welcome we have fostered here at Fjeldberg and go out into our communities and world, to help Share God’s love! There are so many ways that we can share God’s love, and one of those may be inviting someone to come and be part of our community.

God of community, we thank you for the community you have created at Fjeldberg, and for all those who we share life with. Help us to continue to foster community at Fjeldberg and beyond our walls, so that all may know your love. Amen.
