Fjeldberg – Devotion for September 2nd, 2025

READ (Colossians 3:23)
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.

REFLECT
It is all too easy to find ourselves working so hard for the approval, affection, and gratitude of other humans. Yet, this verse calls us to something bigger. We are children of God and are called to aspire to things this world is not always accustomed to. And in God’s all-knowing, gracious, and loving way, did not leave us to figure it all out on our own. God gave us his word in the Bible to remind us. God gave us an example to mimic in Jesus. God continues to give us grace when we don’t get it right.

PRAY
God of wonder, you charge us with a job, you give us the tools to do it, and you give us grace when we don’t get it right. Help us to treat others the way you treat us by showing grace and love in all that we do. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
