Fjeldberg – Devotion for November 20th, 2025

READ (Ephesians 2:8-9)
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

REFLECT

The book of Ephesians was written by Paul to the people in the church in Ephesus as a sort of instruction manual to help them with issues they were having maintaining their faith walk. They were starting to go the direction of their works for God being more important than God’s love for them. I remember from my confirmation classes, decades ago, that our faith in God should be most important. Our good works will then be a result of God’s love, not God’s love being a result of our good works.

PRAY

Loving heavenly Father, help us to remember that any good works we do are from you, not by own doing but a gift from You. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
