Fjeldberg – Devotion for December 18th, 2025

READ (Proverbs 19:20-21)  

Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future. Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.

REFLECT 

I am constantly catching myself planning for scenarios that I think may happen in my life. I quickly realize that this is so foolish to waste my time thinking up such things. As the text says “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” I have really been trying lately to catch myself and stop when my mind goes off in that direction. I say to myself “Let go and let God.” God will give us wisdom and direction if we listen and accept His instruction.  

PRAY   

Heavenly Father, help us to listen for your advice and accept your instruction. It is your purpose we want to live and follow. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
