Fjeldberg – Devotion for December 11th, 2025
READ (Galatians 6:9)
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
REFLECT
Advent in our house is full of excitement, especially with little ones. Their energy is contagious, but so is their focus on the gifts they hope to find under the tree. It can be a challenge to gently steer their attention toward giving rather than receiving. Yet these small teaching moments are where Paul’s encouragement comes alive: “don’t grow weary in doing good.”
Each reminder we give, each opportunity we create for them to share, is a seed planted. We may not see the full harvest right away, but Advent reassures us that God is at work in their hearts — and ours — shaping generosity, patience, and joy. As we prepare for Christ’s coming, may we trust that every small act of goodness in our homes is part of God’s larger story of love.
PRAY
God of hope, thank you for the joy and energy children bring into this season. Guide us as we teach them what it means to give, to share, and to love generously. When we grow tired or discouraged, renew our strength and our patience. Help our homes reflect your hope and light during Advent, and nurture generosity in each of us. Amen.
