READ (Romans 9:16)

“So it depends not on human will or exertion but on God who shows mercy.”

REFLECT 

Like many of us who have experienced a health crisis, I am so grateful for the skilled medical staff that recently helped lift me out of a dire situation. In retrospect, I can see several points prior to their saving intervention that were pivotal in avoiding a bad outcome. In those moments, had there been delay or a different decision made, the end result could have been far worse; but God showed his mercy. Have you experienced such times? I tend to worry over what might be and try to protect against every possible negative outcome. But now I see I have worried far too much for someone whom God did not fail in those dark hours, when I had no control over what could occur. 

PRAY   

Dear God, thank you for your saving mercy. Please help us appreciate its presence in our lives and share it with others. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
